NAGATANI-EN

Few makers mean as much to us as Nagatani-en. For eight generations, the family has worked with Iga clay, preserving what makes it remarkable while adapting traditional donabe to the way people cook now.

The clay holds heat gently and keeps food warm, allowing the pot to move naturally from stove to table. Kamado-san, its double-lidded rice cooker, produces plump rice with a lightly toasted bottom. Other donabe make soup, hotpot and steamed dishes something everyone can share as they are ready.

It is an honour to have Nagatani-en at FRIEND FRIEND. Each pot is a precious tool, but never too precious for everyday use. We hope it becomes part of family life—rice lifted from the same pot, food passed around the table, and dinner continuing around the flame. More than bringing a remarkable object into the home, it makes room for what matters most: a meal shared.
