SORI YANAGI

Sori Yanagi designed industrial objects through the hand. He shaped clay models, tested prototypes and adjusted the curve of a handle or the lip of a bowl until the form felt natural to hold and use.

This method brought Japanese craft knowledge into modern production without losing the sensitivity of handmade work. Kettles pour cleanly. Mixing bowls are easy to grip. Ladles balance without awkward weight at the end. Decades later, the objects still look calm, work beautifully and have very little to correct.
