- Don't fret if you notice a bit of white powder in the mortar when you first get it. It's there from the firing process to stop the pieces from sticking. A gentle brush off will do the trick and don't worry if you can't get it all, it's perfectly harmless and will disappear with use.
- Go ahead and throw it in the microwave or the dishwasher. Our mortar is heat-resistant and can be safely cleaned in these appliances.
- Clean-up is a breeze. Simply use a sponge and some dish soap to clean out food residue from the grinding grooves. For those tough stains, a scouring pad and a good scrub should do the trick. Rinse well and let it dry before tucking it away.
- Need an extra layer of cleanliness Feel free to give it a hot water boil for additional sanitization.
